Reginald P. Howard

Reginald P. Howard is an award-winning author and illustrator with a lifelong passion for drawing that spans over 40 years. With only a few early years of formal art training, Reggie honed his craft through sheer dedication, excelling in creative arts before finding his true calling in drawing, sketching, and cartoon storyboarding. Today, he focuses on bringing joy to readers through a series of entertaining books, while also lending his artistic talent to illustrate his wife’s celebrated children’s book series.

A graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, with a degree in Business, Reggie spent over 30 years working with the Federal Government before transitioning to pursue his true passion—cartooning. Though his career pivot may seem unconventional, Reggie’s love for art has been a constant thread since childhood. Supported by his family, his first and most loyal audience, Reggie always knew he would one day fully dedicate himself to his artistic journey. Now, his ability to combine humor and relatability in his storytelling allows him to create works that inspire and entertain audiences of all ages.

Reggie currently resides in Maryland with his wife and their three children, Regan, Daia, and Chancellor. He compares drawing to riding a bike, saying it’s a skill that never leaves you but only gets better with practice. With a sharp sense of humor and a unique perspective shaped by his colorful life experiences, Reggie continues to refine his craft, surprising even himself with the creativity that flows from his pen. His work is a testament to his belief in constant growth and the power of storytelling to bring people together.
